Hi My name is Alan Mason, I am looking for a challenge abroad within coaching. I have been coaching rugby league teams for 10 years with some great results, I have coached the NZ Maori Under 18's over the Cook Islands in 2005/06 and against Australian Indigenous in 2007.
I have also coached my regional rep squad for the past couple of years winning the North Island title and the most prestigious trophy in NZ the Rugby League Cup.
Over the past 8/10 years I have assisted players development in rugby league of which a large percent have moved on to higher honors; Barticard Cup/Junior Kiwis/NZ Maori/NZ Residents/NRL.
I played my Junior footy in Australia at the Balmain Police Boys club, with my return to NZ I began playing club footy and represented NZ Maori/short listed for NZ residents/ north v south island.
I have played under some great coaches in Gary Kemble, Tawera Nikau and Mark Elia. I had a short stint in the UK playing for Leigh Centurions then on to France where I played for Palau Del Vidre, after two weeks playing in France I was offered the coaching job this was certainly a challenge as I couldn't speak French, the team was positioned 13th out of 14 in the competition, my team made the semi-finals which was a club first.
As this may read I have been involved in Rugby League for most of my life, I am a passionate man about rugby league.
