The QRL South East Queensland Division invites applications for appointment to the role of Ipswich Rugby League Operations Manager. This key full time position is supported from funding received through the Australian Rugby League to employ Administration positions throughout the State. It is expected the successful applicant will play a key role in progressing the game of rugby league in the Ipswich region. The position will be located in Ipswich and will be responsible for the day to day requirements of the Local League.
The Operations Manager is required to report to the SEQ Division Manager, and the Local League Chairman.
A remuneration package applicable to this position will be negotiated with the successful applicant.

POSITION DESCRIPTION DUTIES Planning • Liaise with the Local League Executive on the development of operational plans for the Local League and monitor and report on the achievement of planned outcomes. • Assist affiliated Clubs with the development of planning documents.
Financial • Assist the Local League Treasurer to prepare annual financial plans for the League, incorporating budgets and cash flow estimates. • Monitor the financial performance of the Local League and its affiliated Clubs. • Secure corporate sponsorship for the Local League.
Management • Coordinate the day-to-day activities of the Local League Office. • Develop appropriate Local League operating policies and procedures. • Conduct Club performance reviews and report to the relevant stakeholders on issues of significance to the health of rugby league in the Local League. • Develop and maintain a strong relationship with the Local League Committee and assist with the conduct of Local League meetings. • Develop and maintain strong relationships with affiliated Clubs, volunteers, staff and other stakeholders. • Liaise with the Division Manager, Development Officers and Referees' Development Officers on the conduct of approved courses in the Local League area. • Assist affiliated Clubs to identify grant opportunities and in the preparation of grant applications.
Promotion • Market and promote rugby league in the Local League area and maximise local media coverage. • Represent the Local League at events, forums and stakeholder meetings.
Football Operations • Administer all aspects of Local League competitions. • Ensure that the Local League and its affiliated Clubs adhere to the QRL's requirements relating to the registration and insurance of the game's participants. • Assist with the conduct of the Local League's representative programme and competitions. • Provide support to the Division Manager for representative matches and carnivals held in the Local League area.
General • Ensure that the Local League and its affiliated Clubs comply with Government legislation and the rules and policies of the ARL, QRL and the Division. • Liaise with the Division Manager on the conduct of database/Leaguenet training and support programs. • Prepare reports and correspondence, answer enquiries and process accounts, as applicable to the position. • Perform such duties as requested by the Division Board that assist in the promotion and fostering of rugby league
Reporting • The position will report to the Division Manager. • The Local League Chairman will be required to provide written reports as required on performance measurements.
Probationary Period • A three monthly review will be conducted following appointment and will be conducted by the Division Manager and Chair of the local senior and junior leagues or a Delegate as appointed by the Board of the South East Qld Division.
Term of Employment • Following a successful evaluation at the end of the Probationary Period the position shall exist until 30th September 2010 when an annual review is completed and appointment may be extended for a further year to 30th September 2011 at that time.
Wages and Conditions • Wages, conditions and entitlements will be determined at interview but will be in accordance to funding provided by the Queensland Rugby League Limited. • This position is dependent on funding being made available by the Queensland Rugby League Limited and the South East Qld Division of the QRL reserves the right to terminate the position if funding is not provided for it to continue as per the duties and terms as previously outlined. • Weekend work and hours outside of what is deemed normal office hours will be required due to the nature of the work to be undertaken. |
