Harlequins Rugby League Foundation is the development arm of the Harlequins RL Super League club and lead on the development of Rugby League in London and the South East. The Foundation delivers a range of sports, physical activity and healthy lifestyles programmes across London and are a recognised and valued service provider in the west London and north Surrey area.
This role involves undertaking coaching assignments on a casual basis. The coaching hours available will fluctuate with the school and the community Rugby League fixture calendar and may be during the day or at evenings and weekends.
You will be given Harlequins RL coaching uniform. Candidates with other sports coaching qualifications, Rugby League refereeing qualifications and sports leadership awards are also welcome to apply.
Role Outline Deliver of Rugby League coaching across a range of west London and north Surrey boroughs; to a range of age-groups in local schools, community groups and amateur clubs. Promote and develop volunteer recruitment within the community game. Prepare, complete and submit reports and key performance indicators to partners and line management Assist with Harlequins RL Match day community activity Active promotion of Harlequins RL marketing and ticketing initiatives through community network
Person Specification (Essential/Desirable) UKCC Level 2 Rugby League coaching qualification (E) Experience in coaching children and young people (E) A full, clean driving licence and access to a vehicle (E) Willing to undertake an enhanced CRB check on appointment to the role (E) Some form of academic qualification in PE or Sport (D) Knowledge and experience of sport development and the structures surrounding school sport partnerships (D) Knowledge and experience of community Rugby League in London and the South (D) Ability to prioritise work effectively in order to achieve short, medium and long term objectives (E) Ability to work both independently and as part of a wider team (E) Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal (E) Experience of reporting key performance data to line management (D) Motivated and enthusiastic personality (E) Flexibility to work weekends and evenings (E)
