Respected rugby league identity Roy Masters will share his expert views on the state of the game at the inaugural QRL Northern Admin Conference in 2009. Masters, a former Western Suburbs coach and leading Sydney journalist, is one of the headline acts for the February 7-8 Conference in Townsville.

In a major boost for administrators and volunteers in Northern and Central Queensland, more than 200 members of the rugby league fraternity will converge on Townsville’s Mercure Hotel.

The introduction of a Northern Admin Conference follows a significant financial contribution from the QRL and comes hot on the heels of successful Admin Conferences on the Gold Coast.

The Admin Conference at the Gold Coast’s Radisson Resort will again be back bigger and better in 2009, with Warren Ryan one of the speakers for the February 14-15 event.

This Conference will also include a tradeshow for the first time and a host of fascinating new streams and sessions.

These sessions will also be offered for the administrators and volunteers who attend the inaugural Northern Conference in Townsville.

QRL Managing Director Ross Livermore urged the rugby league folk in the North and Central Queensland to make the most of the opportunity.

“In recent times we have seen a handful of North Queensland-based administrators and volunteers make the trip to the Gold Coast for the Southern Conference,” Livermore said.

“But the introduction of the Northern Admin Conference now provides people from North Queensland with a fabulous opportunity to learn more about their key roles and the game of rugby league in their own backyard.”

Livermore said there had been strong demand for the staging of a Northern Conference for some time.

However, he said this Conference was not limited to people from within the Northern Division.

He encouraged Central Queensland league volunteers to take part.

The Conferences offer great value for money, with all your accommodation, meals and Conference sessions part of the package.

The first three delegates from an individual club, league or association pay just $110. The cost is $220 for additional delegates and partners.
