North Queensland Toyota Cowboys are partnering with the Queensland Government this week to celebrate the Rugby League World Cup 2008, with a number of community events being held across the north.

Cowboys players will travel north to Cairns and south to Mackay over the four-day regional celebration, which includes in-store appearances for the Rugby League World Cup trophy at Harvey Norman stores across North Queensland.

Cowboys Development Manager Dean Payne will attend the junior coaching clinics hosted by the QRL in Cairns and Townsville, accompanied by top squad players Ashley Graham and Ben Farrar (Cairns), and Travis Burns and Shane Tronc (Townsville).

Townsville will host a Sports Locker Room Forum on Friday 14 November, a free community event at Dairy Farmers Stadium for all rugby league coaches, players, parents, supporters and officials.

League enthusiasts will have the opportunity to exchange ideas and share experiences on various rugby league topics with representatives from the North Queensland Toyota Cowboys.

Those interested in attending the forum can visit www.cowboys.com.au for the link to register online, or contact the Department of Local Government, Sport and Recreation with enquiries on 4799 7010.

These activities are part of a program of state-wide events being held by the Queensland Government to celebrate the Rugby League World Cup 2008.
