By Callum Dent, Sporting Life - Richard Johnson has been granted permission from Bradford Bulls to fulfil his dream and play in Australia. Johnson has joined St George-Illawarra's feeder club Wollongong for a season and Bulls coach Brian McNamara admitted it's an excellent opportunity.
Speaking to the Telegraph and Argus, McNamara said: "Wollongong are the feeder club for St George-Illawarra and this is a great opportunity for Richard at his age.
"He's a great kid and a good player but these opportunities - both in terms of rugby and actual life experiences - don't come around too often.
"We wouldn't want to stand in his way and he's gone for a season out there."
Johnson made his first team debut last August against Leeds Rhinos and has been on the Bulls' books for just over seven years.
