In readiness for Catalans Dragons engage Super League clash with Warrington in Barcelona in mid-June, this weekend saw the famous Spanish city host its first Rugby League coaching course.

Run by the Rugby League Catalan Association, and taken by RFL Coach Educator Karl Harrison, the three day course takes place at the Catalan Sports University, INEFC, near the Olympic Stadium that will host the round 17 encounter.

Forty five candidates have signed up for the course, including players, coaches and match officials and Harrison will be helped by German stalwart Danny Stocks, Tom Mather and Malta RL development officer Anthony Micallef.

Also assisting is Catalonia coach Eric Delherbe and the successful graduates intend to spread Rugby League throughout the region in the near future.
