By Gregor Mactaggart, NT News - Territory Titans triumvirate Jeromie Edwards, Jason Gebert and Matt Johnson have attracted the attention of NRL club Newcastle.

The Northern Territory News understands the Knights strategic development manager Keith Onslow is preparing to make overtures for the trio, who have been instrumental figures behind the under-18 Titans' success in the Mal Meninga Cup.

All three hail from the Palmerston Rugby League club and are members of the NTIS rugby league program.

Edwards, who attended a Knights training camp last season, has played in both the front and back-row for the NT, has been its talisman so far this campaign and also played for the Combined Australian Affiliated States under-18 team in Darwin last season.

Gebert is a classy halfback and the Titans captain, and along with blockbusting centre Johnson, has also been a fine performer during the Territory's inaugural national competition assault.

The Knights is the home club of another Palmerston and NTIS product, winger James McManus.
