The first two Ted Beaumont Trophy matches for the year, in Northside 2 and Northside 3, were played at Davies Park in front of a crowd of approximately 700 spectators.
In Northside 2, Dayboro scored four tries to none in the first half to lead Mitchelton 20-0 at half time. Mitchelton came back strongly in the second half scoring three tries to none, but Dayboro won the match 22-14. Dayboro move to 23 competition points, with Mitchelton staying on 15 points.
Brothers Juniors scored three tries to two in the first half to lead Ferny Grove 16-10 at half time in the Northside 3 match. Brothers went on to win the match 28-16, scoring five tries to three. Brothers move to 22 competition points, with Ferny Grove staying on 16 points.
Easts Juniors had the bye in Premier Grade to retain the competition lead on 20 points. Deception Bay beat Banyo 24-20 to move into second place on 15 points with Banyo sharing third place, on 14 points with Valleys, who beat Redlands 22-6. Carina beat Wynnum 32-12 to be on 13 points while Arana and Aspley share 7 points after they drew 20-all. Redlands are on 6 points, with Wynnum on 4 points.
In Southside 2, Centenary beat Mt Gravatt 16-12 to retain the competition lead on 18 points. St Brendans beat Wynnum 28-24 to be in second place, on 17 points, while Inala forfeited to Slacks Creek to stay on 16 points. Sunnybank remain on 13 points after they were beaten 24-16 by Rochedale in Rochedale’s first win for the season. Mt Gravatt is on 12 points, Wynnum 10, Slacks Creek 8 and Rochedale move to 2 points.
St Brendans remain in the competition lead in Southside 3, on 19 points, after drawing 20-all with Redlands. Logan Wanderers beat Sunnybank 24-20 to move to 18 points, while Carina beat North Stradbroke Island 56-22 to be on 17 points. Mustangs beat Waterford 80-2 to share 15 points with Redlands and Edens Landing, who had the bye. Souths beat Wynnum 48-4 leaving Stradbroke on 12, Sunnybank on 10, Souths on 9, Wynnum on 8 and Waterford on 6 points.
In Southside 4, Bulimba Valleys drew 16-all with Centenary to retain the competition lead on 23 points. Carina beat Inala 28-4 to be on 20 points, while Centenary is on 15 points. Beenleigh drew 14-all with Waterford to be 13 points, while Sunnybank were beaten 42-20 by Slacks Creek to be on 12 points. Waterford moves to 11 points, while Logan Brothers beat Logan City Chiefs 46-18 to share 10 points with Slacks Creek. Logan Wanderers beat Mustangs 48-24 to share 9 points with Logan City Chiefs. Inala is on 8 points, with Mustangs yet to register a competition point.
In the Under 22 Albert Bishop Shield, Easts Juniors beat Graceville 38-10 to retain the competition lead on 18 points. Logan Brothers beat Browns Plains 82-0 to share 17 points with Capalaba, who beat Albany Creek 22-14. Albany Creek stays on 13 points, with Valleys on 12, after they received a forfeit from Mt Gravatt. Graceville shares 8 points with St Josephs, who beat Arana Hills 28-24. Arana Hills is on 5 points, with Browns Plains on 2 points.
In the Under 20 Arthur Sparks Shield Aspley beat Carina 50-8 to take the competition lead on 16 points, with Carina on 15 points. Aspley will Carina in the Ted Beaumont Trophy on Monday week in a non-premiership match at Davies Park. Pine Central beat Mitchelton 38-20 to be on 14 points, while St Josephs beat Banyo 46-4 to share 13 points with Mustangs, who beat Deception Bay 48-0. Mitchelton and Mt Gravatt share 11 points, Sunnybank had the bye to be on 10 points, while Deception Bay is on 7 points, Valleys on 6 and Banyo on 4 points. |
