Former South Sydney Rabbitohs coach Jason Taylor will offer his expertise to local coaches at a clinic at Caloundra's junior rugby league grounds this Saturday. Taylor, a decorated halfback who enjoyed a fine career with the North Sydney Bears and Parramatta Eels, will join forces with Sunshine Coast Sea Eagles coach Brandon Costin.

Costin and Taylor will cover advanced principles of attack, vision and decision making.

Taylor, who at one stage was the NRL's leading points scorer before he was overtaken by Andrew Johns, will also conduct a one hour kicking session for any interested players.

After being sacked as Rabbitohs coach late last year, Taylor has since accepted a role as the Sydney Roosters' kicking coach.

"Any coach who misses this will be poorer for it, as will their players," Sunshine Coast-Gympie Rugby League CEO James Ward said. "I have recently had the good fortune to witness first hand the application of coaching methods by ‘Costo', and I defy any coach who attends this program to not leave with knowledge that will contribute positively to their skills."

The coaching program will begin at noon, with the kicking clinic at 4pm.
