By Luke Turgeon - The focus has been on their forward pack but Gold Coast Titans captain Scott Prince knows two of his former teammates could create some headaches out wide for the Warriors when they meet at Skilled Park on Sunday.

Itching to get on the field for the season opener, the Titans skipper yesterday admitted the return of Brent Tate and the acquisition of Brett Seymour, former teammates of Prince at the Broncos, would give the Warriors extra spark around the edges.

Given a chance to resurrect his career after being shown the door by Brisbane and Sharks for several off-field indiscretions, Prince knows Seymour will have a point to prove in his first game since Round 8 last season.

"They're playing some good footy and I watched a few highlights in their trials games and with Brett Seymour there, it gives them more direction, more structure, a better kicking game and he's very handy with the ball," said Prince, who left Brisbane for the Tigers before joining the Titans in 2007.

"I played with him at the Broncos and he was part of the reason why I left.

"He is a good player and very talented but it was unfortunate he had a couple of bad instances off the field and on the field with injuries.

"But I have the utmost respect for him because he's a very good player and let's just hope we can counteract his trick shots."

Speaking at an announcement of ThyssenKrupp Elevator Australia as the new lower jersey sponsor for the Titans home strip, Prince said Tate, who returns after a second knee reconstruction in three seasons, was another who could provide plenty of punch out wide.

Sunday's match at Skilled Park provides Titans fans with their first chance to watch Prince and new signing Greg Bird combine in the halves.

And Prince hopes it can give them more options this season.

"We've got a number of positions and points of attack with Birdy there," said Prince.

"He's a big bugger so it takes a couple of guys to pull him down and hopefully it can open up a bit of space for not only myself but Presto (fullback Preston Campbell) and (hooker) Nathan Friend."
