Barrow crushed Widnes 38-0 in today's Co-Operative Championship elimination play-off at Craven Park. Ned Catic, Liam Harrison and Liam Campbell crossed in the first half to put Barrow firmly in command, while further tries from James Coyle, Andy Ballard, Matt James and a second for Campbell completed the rout after the interval.
Jamie Rooney kicked the extra points from five of the seven tries as the Vikings' play-off hopes were comprehensively brought to an end, while the Raiders progress to next weekend's minor semi-final at home to Sheffield.
In the Co-operative Championship 1 play-off series, Blackpool were 36-26 winners over Workington after rallying from a 14-0 deficit at the interval.
Tries from Jack Pedley and Jarrad Stack had Workington on course for an unlikely win, but John Clough, Martin Ainscough (2) and Mark McCully crossed early in the second half to put Blackpool in charge.
Elliot Miller brought Workington back into the contest but Blackpool pulled further clear thanks to tries by Damian Munro and Danny Halliwell. Stack added a further consolation for Workington late on.
Rochdale ran in 10 tries as they brushed aside South Wales 60-26.
Paul Crook, Craig Ashall and Dale Bloomfield each ran in two tries as the hosts at Spotland eased to a comfortable win. Wayne English, Adam Bowman, John Cookson and Gareth Hayes also went over for the victors.
Steve Parry, Jamie Murphy (2), Lewis Mills and Aled James added South Wales' tries. |
