Castleford Tigers have continued their recruitment for 2009 with the capture of prop forward Chris Feather from the Bradford Bulls. The 26-year-old has agreed a one-year deal with the Tigers.

A big, strong Keighley born prop, Chris started his professional career with Wakefield before switching to the Leeds Rhinos in 2003. Chris spent four years at Headingley, which included a spell back at Belle Vue on loan, before joining West Yorkshire rivals Bradford Bulls in 2006.

Terry Matterson said: “I am really pleased to have Chris on board, he is the sort of player we have been looking for. He big and strong and very mobile and will give our pack some real strength and stature.

“I met Chris briefly four years ago when I was with Canberra. He was on holiday at the time but called in to see Dave Furner, who was a friend of his, and I know that Dave would have liked to have had him on board at the Raiders.

“He has had a tough couple of years, and knows that, but he is raring to go and at 26 I feel that his best rugby is ahead of him.”

Chris said: “I am looking forward to linking up with the Tigers. I have had a couple of steady years with Bradford but been a bit unlucky with injuries, but I’m fully fit now, ready to get stuck into a good pre-season, and looking forward to playing some regular rugby.

“I am pleased that Terry has given me this chance, speaking to him he seems really switched on and has signed well for the coming season and I’m sure that the Tigers can go really well.”
