By Graham Callaghan - Southport Tigers took one giant step to creating GCRL history when they trounced the Currumbin Eagles 30-0 in the Bycroft Cup preliminary final at Owen Park on Sunday. The Tigers are attempting to be the first club to win three consecutive Bycroft Cups and yesterday's emphatic all-the-way win keeping the Eagles scoreless was a excellent way to bounce back from their loss to Bilambil Jets in the major semi-final.

Second-rower Ben Creagh scored a hat-trick of tries inside the first 18 minutes as the Dragons raced out to 24-6 half-time lead.

St George Illawarra's Minor Premiership celebrations in front of a sell-out crowd at WIN Jubilee Oval on Sunday night ended a 2010 Telstra Premiership regular season that recorded the highest attendance in Rugby League history. The crowd of 18,274 took the total regular season attendance for the 2010 Telstra Premiership to 3,151,039, smashing the previous record of 3,081,874 set last year.

The Vikings can today reveal the signings of two new players. Joining the club are former Leigh Centurions second rower Macgraff Leuluai, the younger brother of Wigan and New Zealand scrum-half Thomas and the son of former New Zealand international James, a popular centre with Hull in the 1980's. Also putting pen to paper, is halfback Chaz I'Anson who joins the Vikings from Hull KR.

In the Intrust Super Cup, the Sunshine Coast and Wynnum Manly have been eliminated. The two winners from next weekend's Preliminary Finals (Norths v Mackay at Bishop Park on Saturday and Souths Logan v Northern Pride at Davies Park on Sunday) advance to the September 19 Grand Final at Suncorp Stadium.
