Fiji NRL - Makoi Bulldogs v Nabua Broncos Print E-mail
Saturday, 28 August 2010 07:18
By Anare Ravula - It will be the decider for Makoi Bulldogs and the Hot Bread Kitchen Nabua Broncos in the Fiji National Rugby League Vodafone Cup minor semi-final at Suva Grammar ground today.

Club official Maika Vunivere said this was their third encounter in the competition and they had a win each. During the first game, the Makoi Bulldogs won 10-4 while the second encounter the Broncos turn the tables winning 16-14.

"This third game will be the decider for us," Vunivere said.

He said the players had been reminded the importance of the match today and should take caution in minimising mistakes.

"A loss means that until next season we'll be able to play again," Vunivere said.

"That also applies to our opposition as well."

Since losing the Tas Baiteri Cup to Police Sharks on July 17, Vunivere said the side's performance level had dropped slightly.

"I had told the boys the big task in today's encounter and we cannot afford to relax."

He said against the Islands Electric Lautoka Crushers premier meet last week, he had witnessed mistakes committed expecially the utilisation of the fourth ball.

"But we have ironed out the weakness and hopefully it'll be a very interesting clash." Its reserve team will be out to stop the Lautoka Crushers.

Vunivere said they needed to be aware that their opposition would be out to avenge their loss in the premier grade.

The only setback to his side is an injury to lock forward Eliki Ledua

"But that's taken care of with former Fiji Bati rep Jone Wesele to fill in the role."

The Makoi Bulldogs will meet Islands Electric Lautoka Crushers at 10.45am before its Premier grade takes on the Hot Bread Kitchen Nabua Broncos at 11.50am.
